SMS Policy

Bloma operates a software platform used by independent acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine clinics across the United States. As part of that platform, Bloma sends appointment-related SMS (text) notifications on behalf of those clinics to their patients. This page explains how that messaging works, how patients consent to receive messages, and how they can stop receiving them at any time.
Who receives SMS messages from Bloma
Only patients of clinics that use Bloma, and only those who have affirmatively opted in. A patient receives SMS from their clinic for appointment notifications — a booking link, confirmation that their request was received, and replies to their inquiry — after, and only after, they check the optional SMS consent checkbox on the clinic's appointment request form. Bloma does not send marketing or promotional texts, and does not send SMS to clinic prospects.
How patients consent (opt-in)
Bloma collects consent through a clear, unchecked-by-default checkbox on each clinic's appointment request form. The exact consent text shown to the patient:
I agree to receive SMS text messages from this clinic about my appointment request — including a booking link, confirmations, and replies to my inquiry. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
The checkbox is unchecked by default and is not required — the form can be submitted, and an appointment requested, without checking it. No SMS is sent to anyone who has not affirmatively checked it. Each opt-in is recorded with a UTC timestamp. Patient opt-in occurs on each clinic's own website — for example, https://drhan.bloma.ai/book.
Message types and frequency
- An appointment booking link, sent after a patient requests an appointment
- Confirmation that the clinic received the patient's appointment request
- Replies in direct response to a patient's inquiry
Bloma does not send promotional or marketing SMS. Message volume is low — a typical patient receives one or two messages per appointment request.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message from Bloma at any time. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further texts. To opt back in, reply START.
